2. CODES OF CONDUCT

2.1 Parent / Guardian Code of Conduct

Confirmation of reading and agreeing is required for registration.

As a member of the Toronto Jr. Argos community, I agree to:

Respect & Sportsmanship

• Demonstrate positive support for players, coaches, volunteers, and officials.
• Promote good sportsmanship at all games, practices, and events.
• Place players’ physical and emotional well-being ahead of any personal desire to win.

Conduct Expectations

• Treat all participants with respect regardless of race, gender, creed, or ability.
• Avoid confrontational, abusive, or negative behaviour toward players, coaches, referees, or other parents.
• Discourage the use of illegal or performance-enhancing substances.

Support for the Program

• Work with coaches and club staff to create a safe and supportive environment.
• Communicate issues or concerns through appropriate club channels.
• Abide by all club rules, league rules, and facility regulations.

I have read and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct during my child’s participation with the Toronto Jr. Argos.

2.2 Player Code of Conduct

Confirmation of reading and agreeing is required for registration.

As a Toronto Jr. Argos player, I agree to:

Effort & Commitment

• Participate to the best of my ability and take responsibility for my actions.
• Attend practices and games consistently and demonstrate effort and focus.

Sportsmanship & Respect

• Show good sportsmanship on and off the field.
• Treat teammates, coaches, officials, and fans with respect regardless of race, gender, creed, or ability.
• Use appropriate language at all club activities.
• Always respect the integrity and judgment of officials.
• Care for all Jr. Argos equipment. Return all equipment to the club.

Character & Behaviour

• Exercise self-control and be coachable.
• Win with character and lose with dignity.

3. INDEMNITY, WAIVER & AUTHORIZATIONS

3.1 Indemnity & Release

In consideration of the Toronto Jr. Argos permitting my/our child to participate, I/we agree to:

• Indemnify and hold harmless the Toronto Jr. Argos, its officers, directors, coaches, volunteers, employees, and agents from all claims, actions, losses, costs, damages, or injuries (including death) arising from participation in club activities, including travel.
• Release and forever discharge the club and its representatives from all claims or demands which may arise in connection with participation or the provision of medical care.

3.2 Liability Waiver

I, the applicant, on behalf of myself, my family, and the player being registered:

• Release and hold harmless the OSFL, Football Ontario, Football Canada, Toronto Gridiron Minor Tackle Football Club Inc., Toronto Jr. Argos, and their representatives from any injury, loss, or damage arising from football activities, including where caused in part by negligence.
• Acknowledge the inherent risk of injury in tackle football and assume full responsibility for participating.

4. PRIVACY POLICY

The Toronto Jr. Argos complies with the Canadian Privacy Act.

Information Collected

Personal information is collected for:

• Registration
• Program administration
• Player health and medical needs
• Insurance and league requirements

Use & Storage

• Records are kept for as long as the player remains a member of the club.
• Statistics, photographs, and media may be used for club communications, marketing, and community relations.

By registering, I consent to the club’s use of my child’s personal information in accordance with this policy.

5. EQUIPMENT & PROPERTY RETURN POLICY

All equipment and property loaned to a player must be returned:

• At the end of the season during designated return times, or
• Immediately if the player leaves the program early.

Failure to return equipment within a reasonable timeframe, as determined by the club, will result in an invoice for replacement costs.

Estimated Replacement Cost

• $1,100 (2026 estimate)
• Includes helmets, shoulder pads, pants, pads, belts, and any team-issued property.

6. PLAYER STATUS & TEAM MANAGEMENT

6.1 Right to Release a Player

The Board, in consultation with the coaching staff, reserves the right to request that a player leave the organization.

• Upon notification, the player will be removed from the active roster.
• A refund will be issued for all monies paid minus a $150 administrative fee, once all equipment is returned.
• The player must not have outstanding payments or be in possession of Toronto Jr. Argos equipment.

6.2 Playing Time Policy

Playing time is earned, not guaranteed.

Coaches determine playing time based on:

• Effort & attitude
• Commitment & attendance
• Experience
• Skill level
• Team needs

7. HARASSMENT & ABUSE POLICY

The Toronto Jr. Argos and OSFL maintain zero tolerance for any form of abuse or neglect, including:

• Physical abuse
• Emotional or psychological abuse
• Sexual abuse or misconduct

• Cyber bullying

All parents, volunteers, and staff must take reasonable steps to safeguard participants and report concerns immediately.

8. COVID-19 & HEALTH POLICY

• All participants must follow applicable rules established by host facilities, municipal or provincial authorities, and the Toronto Jr. Argos.
• The club does not require proof of vaccination.
• Facilities may impose their own rules (e.g., masks, vaccination requirements, capacity limits).
• No refunds will be issued for COVID-related issues or facility access restrictions.

9. REFUND POLICY — 2026 (U18, U16, U14, U12)

All refund requests must:

1. Be submitted by email to the Registrar and Team Manager.
2. Arrive before 5:00 pm on the deadline date.
3. Be accompanied by the full return of all equipment/property

Refund Amounts

• Before April 1, 2026:
  • 50% refund minus $150 administrative fee
• After April 1, 2026:
  • No refunds (no exceptions)

Additional Conditions

• Equipment replacement cost estimate (2026): $1,100
• Provincial/federal membership fees are non-refundable
• Refunds are only processed once all equipment is returned
• No exceptions to deadlines or equipment requirements

10. Required Acknowledgements (for Registration)

✔ I have read and agree to the Waiver & Indemnity
✔ I have read and agree to the Parent Code of Conduct
✔ I have read and agree to the Player Code of Conduct
✔ I agree to the Privacy Policy
✔ I acknowledge the Equipment Return Policy
✔ I understand the Refund Policy

Registration is not valid without these acknowledgements.

​Football Ontario will not refund membership once a participant has participated in any team activities.
