Kootenay Chill is a competitive TRAVEL program

TRYOUTS ARE OPEN TO ALL ATHLETES born 2008-2016. Tryouts will be held between February 28th-March 15th. Days, times, and locations for each age group will be confirmed by email and posted to our social media. Registration deadline is February 18th.

Commitments include 2x 90 minute practices per week and travel on select weekends for competition. Travel will be determined by each coach

Fee structure includes a $250 registration fee which must be paid before the first practice of the season, and a subsequent competition fee to be determined on a team-by-team basis (between $350-$500). Competition fee based on coach-selected competitions and tournamentsFees cover travel tournament costs and do not include player's food, transportation or accommodations. If financial assistance is needed, Kootenay Chill is an organization that is eligible for KidSport and other youth athletic subsidization programs.

 

Kootenay Chill 2026 rosters will be selected no later than March 22nd, with practices starting the week of March 30th. Coaches will select competition formats and dates tournaments for the team pre-season that could include (but are not limited to):

  • Thompson-Okanagan Basketball League – (TOBL)

    • League Weekend 1 – April 18/19 in Kamloops (optional)

    • League Weekend 2 -May 2/3 in Kelowna

    • League Weekend 3 – May 23/24 in Vernon/Penticton

    • Championship Weekend June 19-21 Kamloops

  • Lakeside Legends (Penticton) April 10-12

  • GW Hoops Season Opener (Kelowna) April 25/26

  • OC Showdown (Kelowna) May 8-10

  • OC Showdown (Kelowna) May 22-24

  • OC Showdown (Kelowna) May 29-31

  • Rally the Valley (Creston) May 8-10

  • Lakeside Summer Jam (Host Tournament – Nelson) June 5-7

  • Vancouver Bandits Tournament (Kelowna) June 5-7 (attendees will receive tickets to
    Vancouver Bandits game at Prospera place Saturday June 6 th )

Other potential competition/tournament available in Cranbrook, Kelowna, and Kamloops.

Competition fees will be determined on a team-by-team basis determined by the number of competition commitments.
