Currently most divisions are in a waitlist status. If we receive enough players registered on the waitlist to add another team to the division by Tuesday November 19, your player will be promoted from the waitlist. There is no charge to register for the waitlist but once promoted, the registration must be paid for promptly or the spot may be given to another player.

Thank you for supporting NFL Flag at Gateway! Note that any gear ordered with registration (mouthpieces, shorts, sleeves, etc. ) will be delivered with the uniforms shortly before the first game. Q: When and how will we know when practices will begin?

A: The key dates including practices starting and games starting are listed on the website, gateway-flag.com under News towards the bottom. Your coach will contact you with specific night/time/field practice information after teams are assigned.

Q: Who decides when and where practices will be?

A: Coaches and the league director will decide practice days and times based on field availability.

Q: Can I request a specific coach or teammate?

A: No. As much as we would like to accommodate your request, all rosters are created in a blind draft and coaches are assigned to teams at random to keep the teams fair. With almost 2000 kids participating in league play at Gateway Flag each year, it is impossible to accommodate these types of requests leading to frustration for all. There a way around this as described in the next Q/A.

Q. Can I have a group of players from school get on the same team, or a travel team stay together for league play?

A. We do allow a coach to pre-assign 3-4 players on their team if they play UP one age level. We also allow a travel or school team coach to pre-assign 5-8 players on their team if they play UP TWO age levels. The reason for this is to accommodate teammate/carpool/practice night/coach requests but still keep the teams fair. We have found that coaches that bring additional players end up with stronger teams and dominate if kept at the same age level, but are still competitive at the higher age level.

Q: When will we receive our uniforms?

A: At the last practice before the first game.

Q. What if the parking lot is full on game night?

A. Do not park in the "No Parking" areas or you will get a ticket. For game nights there is overflow parking available at the Gateway Elementary school. If the lots at the fields are full, please use the overflow parking and note that some fields are actually closer to the overflow lots.
