Jr. Inferno First Strides is a fun, positive introductory hockey program for girls aged 4-7 who have limited or no skating experience.  (If your daughter is outside this age range and you feel this program would be beneficial for her, please contact firststrides@girlshockeycalgary.com.) 

This program is designed for girls who are interested in discovering hockey before joining a minor hockey team. We will introduce skating and hockey skills while incorporating non-competitive activities and small area games. There are no formal hockey games in this program. Full hockey equipment is mandatory.

To offer a fair and consistent development experience, participants in First Strides should not be simultaneously registered in a minor hockey program. More experienced skaters should consider GHC's U7 (Timbits) and U9 minor hockey programs. First strides is not a prerequisite for U7 (Timbits).

Proof of age and proof of residence must be uploaded to the registration system to complete registration.  No other paperwork is required.

Girls Hockey Calgary would like to share information and communicate with parents by highlighting the program, players and player activities in a variety of public forums. The following are examples only and are not meant to be an all-inclusive list of how player personal information and activities may be shown: displays during GHC events; development sessions; other GHC related activities, GHC publications; or posting or publishing on Girls Hockey Calgary’s web site and social media. Players’ photographs and activities that are showcased may be identified using the player's first name, last name or initial only. In order to comply with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the Copyright Act, Girls Hockey Calgary is requesting consent from parents to post or publish player information and activities on various public forums.

Please note the following information:

• Once photographs, player names and other identifying information or player activities are released in any public forum, Girls Hockey Calgary cannot control or prevent the further distribution or use of the material by those who access the information.

• Parents are under no obligation to consent; it is their voluntary decision to do so. If you do not agree to this document, this indicates a refusal to consent.

• Your consent will be valid for the duration of the Spring Program. You may withdraw your consent prior to posting or publication by notifying GHC in writing. You may at any time instruct us to remove the photographs or activities from Girls Hockey Calgary sites such as displays or from the web site by notifying GHC in writing.

I wish to register my daughter(s) in the Girls Hockey Calgary Jr. Inferno First Strides Program.  I certify the information in the on line registration form to be true and consent to the Player(s) participating in the Jr. Inferno First Strides program of Girls Hockey Calgary (hereafter will be noted as GHC).

Personal information is collected by GHC for the administration and operation of the GHC Jr. Inferno First Strides Program.   I hereby consent to the collection and distribution of personal information for such purposes. 

I understand that hockey is a vigorous and physically demanding game in which injuries may occur. I hereby apply for registration of the player in the GHC Jr. Inferno First Strides Program, agreeing to accept the reasonable risk inherent in the game of hockey including the risk of serious personal injury. I hereby irrevocably release GHC, its officers, directors, coaches, assistant coaches, trainers, managers, referees, officials, servants, agents, and employees from all manner of claims or causes by actions in any way related to personal injury or property damage sustained by the registered player and/or the applicant in the course of participating in, viewing, or traveling to or from any activities in the GHC Jr. Inferno First Strides Program.  I agree to extend this Waiver to include any off-ice activities conducted by the program. 

I certify that I have read, understood, and declare my agreement with the foregoing declaration.

A $25 administration fee will be charged for all player withdrawals.

For withdrawals after the program has started and before December 1st, $25 for every session that has passed will be charged in addition to the $25 admininstation fee (i.e. 3 sessions have passed - $100 will be charged)

For withdrawals after November 30th, registration fees will be 100% non-refundable.
