The following registration is for Halifax PLAYS Rec Soccer (Spring 2025)!

The SPIRIT: While our rec soccer program is open to any & all who are interested, the spirit will be very much recreational in nature. More advanced players may join but are expected to pass & include all in the game. This is intended as a low-key, fun-first option where all skill levels can enjoy!

FORMAT: Games will be 6 vs. 6 by default (unless teams chose to do differently), with ~10 players on each roster. Teams rotate games against each other. We'll also play with a focus on passing plays & getting everyone involved. There might be one big game with 9v9 once in a while for a change if everyone agrees.

LOCATION: Field 4 of the BMO Soccer Center - 210 Thomas Raddall Dr, Halifax, NS B3S 0J2, Canada

DATES/ TIMES: March 10th to May 26th - Mondays 7:00-8:30PM

SPECIAL DATES: March 31st, April 14th 9-10:30PM. May 26th 8-9:30PM. April 7th NO GAME.

Two games running concurrently (4 teams). Each team plays 4 x 22.5-minute quarters with water breaks between them.

COST: $50 for the season

WHO CAN PLAY?: Players of all ages (19+), skill levels & genders! This league is designed more towards beginner to average players, but the intended spirit is very much fun-first & recreational. We emphasize passing & strive to include everyone (especially beginners).

HOW TEAMS WORK: We create them, with an emphasis on mixing things up & ensuring there is decent parity in skill levels. That said, players will have the option to name two friends they want to play with, although efforts will be made to create balanced teams. If at any point - should anyone feel tired, thirsty, or uneasy - please put your health first and sit out and/or let an organizer know.
