JCU Social Sport Terms, Conditions and Important Information
By continuing with your registration you must agree to abide by the following:
Terms and Conditions
'Activity' means participation in and/or observation of the Students Plus Pty Ltd 2025 First Semester Social Sport Competition.
'Association' means Students Plus Pty Ltd together with its officers, servants, agents and employees.
I acknowledge that there are certain risks association with undertaking the Activity and expressly agree to undertake the Activity at my own risk and on the basis that I voluntarily assume all risks association with the Activity.
I agree that I will not make any claim of any nature whatsoever against the Association in relation to or arising out of an injury, loss or damage of any nature whatsoever that I may suffer as a result of undertaking the Activity, whether arising as a result of negligence or otherwise.
I agree to indemnify and keep indemnified the Association in respect of all claims of any nature whatsoever that I may at any time make against the Association in relation to or arising out of any injury, loss or damage of any nature whatsoever that I may suffer as a result of undertaking the Activity, whether arising as a result of negligence or otherwise.
I release and forever discharge the Association from all claims of any nature whatsoever that I may at any time have against the Association in relation to or arising out of an injury, loss or damage of any nature whatsoever that I may suffer as a result of undertaking the Activity, whether arising as a result of negligence or otherwise.
I understand that Students Plus Pty Ltd reserves the right to use still images and digital media for the purpose of JCU Sport advertising in the future.
Personal accident insurance is valid only for currently enrolled JCU students and staff employed by JCU. Participants not enrolled or employed at JCU are covered only with Public liability insurance.
Team Information
Teams MUST wear identical coloured shirts/singlet's.
If registering as an individual we will place you in a team, you can meet your teammates on the first night of competition and decide what colour to wear to later games.
There is no maximum number of team size. Minimum 4 players to avoid forfeit. Recommend a minimum of 3 males and 3 females per team.
All players MUST sign in at the registration desk each week prior to playing your scheduled game.
Additional Rules
Soccer: Futsal Rules Apply - No above head height kicking, no thrown-ins, To prevent injuries in the mixed environment, Goal keepers must be EXPERIENCED goal keepers, or stronger members of the squad.
Touch: Mixed touch rules apply - Teams cannot take the field with more male players than female players. Correct combinations - 2M, 3F or 2M, 2F or 3M, 3F.
Netball: Mixed Netball rules apply - No more than 2 males in each third (Eg, GS-C-GK).
Basketball: Minimum of 2 women on the court at any time.
Volleyball: No more than 2 male hits in a row. If three hits are used a female must touch the ball.
Rounders: Same rules apply for all the other sports including minimum numbers and the specific rules for each sport.
Fixtures
No fixtures will be played during semester breaks (or Lecture Recess).
Fixtures WILL be played on Public holidays unless advised otherwise.

Forfeit Fees
A $50 Refundable Team Forfeit Deposit must be paid by the first round of fixtures. For each forfeit, your team will be deducted as follows: First Forfeit $10, Second Forfeit $15, Third Forfeit $25. If a team does not forfeit at all during the competition they will be reimbursed $50 or the difference of the balance taken out of the competition.
If you are unable at any given week you MUST notify JCU Sport by 3pm on the Thursday prior to Monday's game so a bye can be arranged.
Please note forfeit fees DO NOT apply to individual registrations.
Behaviour/Code of Conduct
The JCU Sport sporting competitions are social sport competitions, excessively competitive behaviour is not appropriate. Back chatting & verbal abuse toward players, officials and staff will NOT be tolerated, any on-field swearing will be penalised by the referee. Abuse from players on the sideline will not be tolerated and the referee has the right to send players off if need be. It is the captain's responsibility to ensure that all players on their team are aware of the expectations and that they are followed. If this type of behaviour continues the entire team will face a Two WEEK SUSPENSION from the competition.
The personal and sensitive information Students Plus Pty Ltd collects from you and the manner in which Students Plus Pty Ltd collects, uses and discloses that information is subject to the provisions of the Privacy Act 1988. This information is collected for Students Plus Pty Ltd own use in conjunction with your request for service from the Students Plus Pty Ltd and may be accessed by you on application.
