Outdoor Mini Soccer Information

Take note of the following information regarding the KWCC Mini-Soccer Program:

  • The program runs from early May to late June (a late snowmelt or wet spring may delay the start of the season although this has not been common most years)
  • KWCC mini-soccer is available for all residents of the Kirkfield-Westwood Community Centre catchment area.  Registrations from outside KWCC's catchment area welcome based on family considerations or area availability however if the community centre in your catchment area offers a mini-soccer program, please enroll there as all C.C’s will prioritize players from their catchment area if enrollment exceeds capacity.
  • All games are played at the Sansome fields on the north side of Sansome School (next door to KW Community Centre's 165 Sansome Ave location).
  • 3/4 Years - Born 2021/2020.  Play/Practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 6:30 pm.
  • 5/6 Years - Born 2019/2018.  Play/Practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 6:30 pm.
  • 7/8 Years - Born 2017/2016.  Play/Practice on Mondays and Wednesdays starting at 6:30 pm.
  • Mini-Soccer Carnival is tentatively planned for Saturday, June 1, 2024.  More details will follow as the season commences.
  • Once registered, by mid-late April you will receive more information.
  • At the time of registration, please consider signing up to be a coach (volunteer coaches will receive a $20.00 refund once the season is over.  Selection of volunteer coaches may be subject to the overall number of possible teams).
  • The convenor will try to accommodate friend requests where possible.  Friend requests limited to one mutual friend request.  Meaning; if your child would like to play with a friend, both families must request this mutually in the registration process. **No email requests will be accepted**.
  • Jerseys will be provided to you prior to or at the first game (jerseys must be returned at the end of the season).
  • Shin pads are mandatory in all KWCC soccer divisions (not supplied)
  • Soccer Socks are recommended but not mandatory (not supplied).
  • Cleats are ok but not mandatory.

A labelled water bottle is a great idea as well.

Volunteer coaches will receive a $20 registration rebate at equipment drop off at end of season.

We will register you now and send you an email closer to the start of the season when payment is is required.

Registration is from February 15, 2024 to April 5, 2024.  If you register late, a $30.00 late fee will be added onto the registration fee and your child will be placed on a waiting list.  Once teams are formed (from on-time registrations) they will be placed on a team if a spot is available.  There are no guarantees.

Game Cancellations

Game cancellations will be notified as of 5:30-6:00 on game day by your coach. Unless there are an abnormally large number of cancellations, lost games are not generally made up.  Always assume there is a game unless you have been contacted. Drizzle will not interfere with a game, but heavy rain and/or lightning will result in a cancellation.
  • Before Season Starts: Parents are entitled to a full refund before the season starts less $5.00 for payment processing charges.
  • No Refunds will be given after season starts.
  • The mini-soccer program relies on volunteers.  Every effort will be made to find coaches, create teams and organize a successful season however if the very unfortunate situation arises where a successful season is not possible due to a shortage of volunteers, KWCC may have to cancel the season for some or all age groups.  If this were to occur, a full refund would be issued.
