Coaches Code of Conduct

Leduc Soccer Association (LSA) always expects all Coaches to be a positive representation of the Club. As such, LSA has implemented the following Code of Conduct and always requires that it be adhered to. LSA will ensure all Coaches are made aware of this Code and will make it available on the Club’s website as well as District handbooks, manuals, and communications. If a Coach fails to comply with the standards set forth in this code, disciplinary measures may be taken by the Club/District.

A Coach will:

Create and maintain a positive environment that promotes teambuilding and development.
Be committed to improving the performance of the players and the team physically and mentally.
Ensure the safety of the players is always paramount.
Encourage players to exhibit good sportsmanship, be gracious winners and losers, and to always play fairly within the laws of the game.
Act as a positive role model always as players look up to team officials and model their behavior after them.
Provide a high-quality soccer program that positively reflects the values of LSA .
Support cultural diversity while opposing all types of discrimination.
Refrain from all manner of personal abuse and harassment of others, whether verbal, physical, emotional or sexual, and shall oppose such abuse and harassment at all levels of soccer.
Respect all people affiliated with the game - players, referees, coaches, spectators, club staff and board, etc.
Be enthusiastic and positive. Be generous with praise when deserved and provide feedback in a positive format that promotes improvement and confidence building.
Never permit a team official or player to take part in a practice, game or team event while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
Be thoroughly acquainted with FIFA Laws of the Game and keep attuned to the sound principles of coaching.
Comply with all LSA rules, regulations, bylaws, policies and procedures as stated in league manuals, on the website, or as amended from time to time.
I understand that any fines issued by the governing leagues or associations are my responsibility.
