We look forward to seeing you this Monday, June 24 for the MCLL Softball Summer Camp Session 1! Here are a few final details to help you make the most of your camp experience.

Location

Camp will take place at Lakelands Park softball field located at 1368 Main Street Gaithersburg, MD. There is free parking. The park is located near Kentlands Market Square which has plenty of restaurants and coffee shops for parents who want to stay in the area or work remotely.

Clothes and equipment

Campers will be outdoors and playing softball. Campers should arrive dressed for the weather. It will be hot. We will have shade and there are indoor bathrooms. Campers must bring their own water bottle and are responsible for staying hydrated. Campers must bring their own lunch or a hearty snack.

Required:
Light activewear (shorts, t-shirt)

Athletic shoes

Water bottle

Hat/visor

Sunscreen (player is responsible for application)

Fielding glove

Batting helmet

Bat

Lunch / snacks in an insulated bag

Recommended:

Softball cleats (soft plastic not metal cleat)
Sunglasses
Sliding pants (for gameplay/drills)

Cooling towel

Drop off/Pick up

Campers should arrive between 8:45 and 9:00 am. Camp starts promptly at 9:00 am and ends promptly at 1:00 pm. Camp director will give each family a 15 minute grace period until 1:15 pm. For campers picked up after 1:15 pm, late charges will be applied. The late pick up charge is $1.00 per minute per child. Parents are held accountable for these additional fees and must be paid by cash directly upon arrival. ALL CAMPERS must be dropped off and picked up by their adult guardian or designee.

Aftercare

You MUST register in advance for aftercare no later than Sunday, June 23 at 12 noon. There are limited spaces and it is not guaranteed so register quickly. Camp ends promptly at 1 pm and after-care is from 1 pm to 5 pm at Lakelands Park. Cost: $160/M-Th (1-5pm) or $50/day. To register, email Erin.Prangley@mclittleleague.org.
