Adult Volleyball Leagues will run for 7 weeks plus 2 weeks for playoffs!

Game Format: For league play - 50 Minute Time Slot, 3 Sets (Games) of Rally Scoring to 21, Cap at 23 (not win by two). All three sets are counted towards the team's win/loss record (this is not match play). For playoffs - Teams will play one best of three matches, unless directed otherwise. The first two sets will be played to 21, no cap; the third set, if necessary, will be played to 15, no cap. Must win by 2! Ref fees are due for each match you play.

Game Times: Monday through Friday – 6:00, 6:50, 7:40, 8:30, 9:20, 10:10pm. Sundays - Noon, 12:50, 1:40, 2:30, 3:20, 4:10, 5:00, 5:50, 6:40, 7:30, 8:20, 9:10PM. The first week's schedules come out the weekend before leagues begin. The remaining schedule will be available through the TeamLinkt app or online. (SUNDAY 2s & 4s Leagues - Later Games)

A weekly required $15 Ref Fee for all leagues (except 2s) must be paid directly to the ref on your court.

Cash, Zelle or Venmo are preferred. (Refs may have additional payment options: Apple Pay, CashApp, PayPal etc.)

Forfeit Fees: If your team cannot make a match and forfeits, your team is responsible for paying both yours and your opponent's ref fees to the ref that was on your court ($30 total). If you do not pay your ref within 48 hours, the card you used to register will be charged the $30 ref fee plus processing fees. Repetitive forfeits or no shows may be subject to removal from the league and forfeiture of your league fees.

Playoffs: Every team will make playoffs. (Please see playoff format above) NOTE: Anyone on your team that has played with said team during the session is eligible to play in playoffs. This means you cannot bring in a sub to play if they haven't played with the team all session. If you play on more than one team (on the same day/night) you will have to decide which team is your 'playoff' team. Players may play on only ONE team per night for playoffs.

Levels of play: We have a little something for everyone! For our inaugural summer season 1, we will offer AA/A, BB/B, and C levels for most leagues. C is geared towards those looking to learn the game and/or just have some fun. BB/B, you will find a larger disparity of skill levels ranging from these intermediate players with good consistency in all skills. While AA/A is our highly competitive/advanced league and is refed much tighter than the other levels.

RULES:

Sand 6s:

1. Matches are 3 games; win by two, scored to 21. Cap for all three games is 25. All games are rally scoring. All three games are played. To keep matches on schedule, officials may shorten the third set at their discretion. Each match is allotted 45 minutes. Standard volleyball rules are followed. Players must rotate positions.

2. All matches will be officiated, except for 2s (see Sand 2s Rules below).

3. All players must play in the front and back row (no liberos). Subbing must take place from the same position(s) on the court during the entire match.

4. All net contact (top, middle, or bottom) will be called strictly. This is as much a safety concern as a rules concern. (The net is LAVA!)

5. You may go under the net, only if you do NOT make contact with the opposing team or interfere with the play of the ball of the opponent. (This will be called at the discretion of your official.)

6. Serves cannot be blocked or attacked. Explanation: The ball while in the front zone (first ten feet of the net) and higher than the net cannot be attacked on a serve.

7. Net serves are legal due to rally scoring.

8. Double contact is allowed only on the first ball over on a hard driven or attacked ball and must be all in one motion. Ex. A spike or serve is considered a driven ball.

9. You may not attack the ball on the opposing team’s side of the net. The ball must break the plane of the net before you can make contact with the ball. Exception: On a team’s third hit, after the ball has contacted the opposing team’s attacker, you may make contact with the ball but only after contact from the opposing team has been made.

10. Teams must have one (1) female for every three (3) males on the court. 3:1 ratio. You must have at least four players to start your match.

11. Please refrain from using profanities.

12 You may use any part of your body to contact the ball. (Feet are allowed)

13. The fence and netting are out of bounds; the play is ruled dead.

14. If the ball makes contact with the antennas, the ball is out. If the ball makes contact with the boundary lines, then the ball is in.

15. You must serve outside the boundary lines at the back of the court. You may not touch the lines or step into the court until after the ball has been hit.

Sand 4s:

1. Matches are 3 games; win by two, scored to 21. Cap for all three sets(games) is 25. All sets are rally scoring. All three sets are played. To keep matches on schedule, officials may shorten the third set at their discretion. Each match is allotted 45 minutes.

2. All matches will be officiated, except for 2s (see Sand 2s Rules below).

2. All matches will be self-officiated, which means calling your own nets, lifts, bad sets, double hits, etc. Please do not make the other team call it on you. If there is any disagreement with the call, please replay the point. If necessary, the league manager will ref the remainder of the match if teams cannot come to an agreement.

3. All net contact (top, middle, or bottom) should be called strictly. This is as much a safety concern as a rules concern. (The net is LAVA!)

4. You may go under the net, only if you do NOT make contact with the opposing team or interfere with the play of the ball of the opponent.

5. Serves cannot be blocked or attacked.

LEAGUE POLICIES:

Any questions regarding rules, policies, or eligibility must be addressed before the start of the game.

STANDINGS:

The updated standings will be posted weekly, displaying each team’s rank within its skill level, via TeamLinkt.

PLAYOFFS:

Playoffs are single elimination. Playoffs will take up to 2 weeks to complete and will be match play, 2 out of 3 matches. The higher seeded team will serve first during the playoffs.

Only players that have signed an online waiver and have played with your team at least once, during the regular season, will be eligible to play in playoffs.

SPORTSMANSHIP:

The idea of Nelly’s is to have fun. We hope that all participants keep that in mind when becoming involved. Although the games may become intense, you still can be competitive while maintaining good sportsmanship. With this said, any behavior deemed unacceptable by officials or staff may result in suspension and/or ejection from a game or the league.

To coordinate and run the league, our officials and/or staff will be available at all times to help the league run as smoothly as possible. If you have questions regarding schedules, policies, rule interpretations, directions to the bar, etc. please ask or call Kayli.

LEAGUE CANCELLATION/RAINOUT:

Leagues may be cancelled due to existing weather conditions, dangerous or unplayable field conditions, facility constraints, scheduling conflicts, etc. Nelly’s staff makes every effort to play all scheduled games; thus, we will not cancel games unless necessary. Therefore, if you are calling concerning a decision on a cancellation, remember we will not have an answer until close to the start of the league,

If the league is cancelled, Nelly’s staff will post all notices on social media sites (Facebook/Website). Nelly’s will then email/text all of the captains, if possible, via TeamLinkt. If a league is cancelled on site, Nelly’s staff will attempt to contact those teams still scheduled to play the remainder of the league day/night. Depending on the time of cancellation, some teams will have to be notified on site. In extreme circumstances, Nelly’s reserves the right to run a shortened season without a refund or schedule matches on days and/or locations other than our regularly scheduled league day/night/location.

TEAM T-SHIRTS: Every player gets a team shirt or tank included with registration—on us! Choose from a few Nelly Belly logo options for the front. The back will feature your team’s name and sponsor(s). If your team has its own sponsor, select the single sponsor option. If not, please choose the multi-sponsor option. Want extras? Additional shirts will be available in the Nelly Belly apparel store for teammates, friends, and your favorite fans.
