Winter 2025 Youth Development Squad (YDS) Registration is Now Live!

Welcome to the 2025 YDS registration! The YDS program is a training squad for players aged 13-21 who are interested in pursuing an elite level of netball and playing on Alberta's representative teams. Provincial teams in the U16 - U21 age divisions are named out of this squad through a formal trial process.

Players must be a minimum of 13 years old to register for the YDS program, unless prior permission has been given by the YDS coach. Players moving out of the Junior Program will do so at the discretion of the YDS coach. All questions can be directed to Jess Young at development@netballalberta.com.

Netball Training: training will continue at Bishop Pinkham from 6:30 - 8:30pm on Tuesday nights. The training calendar is available at netballalberta.com/elite

Sports Performance: sport performance, previously known as strength and conditioning, will be on Thursday nights from 6:00-7:00pm with Tamara J Fitness. We are bringing in an expert in youth sports performance to focus on building athleticism, preventing injuries, and supporting our trajectory towards the tournament.

Gameplay & Training Camps: we are hoping to host weekly gameplay sessions on Saturday or Sunday mornings (dates and times to be confirmed as we are booking the gyms now). This is in an effort to provide more gameplay opportunitites for our representative players to play as one team. Further, we will combine this with camps, providing players and opportunity to train with Alberta Open players, spend time on position specific skills, and connect with players from across the province.

*Please note: this registration form is for players based in Calgary and able to participate in regular trianing. Registration for out of town players will be opening shortly.
