Welcome, and thank you for registering your child for our after-school lacrosse program! This co-ed program is supported by both Newport Boys Lacrosse and NSI Girls Lacrosse organizations. For those new to lacrosse, it’s one of the fastest-growing sports in the U.S. and will return to the Olympic Games in 2028. We hope your child enjoys playing lacrosse this fall, and we will do our best to ensure the program’s success!

Below is the schedule for the program. Please note that this is our first time hosting an after-school lacrosse program at Newport Heights, and we will do our best to ensure it runs smoothly:
2:30 PM - 2:40 PM: Students check in at the Newport Heights soccer field
2:40 PM - 4:00 PM: Lacrosse practices/scrimmages
3:55 PM - 4:00 PM: Wrap-up & Dismissal

Important Logistics:

TeamLinkt App

All communications will be done via the TeamLinkt app, so please make sure to install it. You should have received an email from TeamLinkt regarding the mobile app after registration. If you're having issues with the app, please reach out to us.
We will also use TeamLinkt to track attendance. If your child will not attend a session, please mark their availability in the app as "Not Going." If your child is absent and availability hasn’t been marked, we will contact you by phone to check on your child.

After-School Procedure

We will follow the standard Newport Heights after-school program procedures.
Please inform your child’s teacher that your child is attending the after-school lacrosse program. While we will send the roster to Newport Heights attendance, notifying the teacher will ensure they are aware.
For 1st graders: A staff member or parent volunteer will wait at the covered court area to guide them to the soccer field. On the first session (9/26), Jillianne Brakenridge (Newport Lacrosse Co-President) will assist with this. The staff will hold a sign so the 1st graders know where to gather.
For 2nd graders and up: Please instruct your child to go directly to the soccer field after school ends.

Pick-Up Procedure

Please arrive on time at 4:00 PM for pick-up at the soccer field. We will only release students once parents are there to pick them up.
If you anticipate being late, please inform us as soon as possible via mobile text or TeamLinkt chat.
If you need to pick up your child before the scheduled dismissal time, please inform us in advance and specify the pick-up time.

Lacrosse Equipment

All necessary equipment will be provided by our program.
Please make sure your child wears comfortable clothes and shoes for running on the soccer field and brings a water bottle.
Some experienced players may have their own lacrosse sticks and it is okay to bring them, however, we will not be reliable for any issues that happened during school hours.

Volunteer Sign-Ups

To ensure the success of the program, we kindly request that 2 parents volunteer each week. Your help is crucial to ensuring that the program runs smoothly and safely. Volunteers will assist the lead coach with simple drills, escort students, monitor them, collect balls during practice, help kids go to the restroom, and assist with field setup/cleanup.
Volunteer sign-ups will be available in the TeamLinkt app. Please following these steps to sign-up:
1. Open the TeamLinkt app, go to the schedule, and select the session.
2. Once the session is selected, go to "Event Tasks"
3. Choose either "Volunteer #1" or "Volunteer #2", and assign your player’s name.
On your volunteer day, please plan to arrive by 2:25 PM at the soccer field. We will provide detailed instructions on your volunteer day.
