Welcome to Flag Football Niagara (formerly Niagara Regional Flag Football), where young athletes from ages 4 to 17 can experience the thrill of football in a safe, competitive, and inclusive environment.

Our mission is to provide a platform where boys and girls of all skill levels can learn and grow through non-contact flag football. By focusing on fundamentals, teamwork, and fun, we aim to build confidence and foster a love for the game in every participant.

Our Seasons

We offer two exciting seasons of flag football each year:

  • Spring Season: Runs from mid-April to mid-June. Registration opens on the Dec 1st. 
  • Fall Season: Runs from mid-August to mid-October. Registration opens at the end of the spring season.

Game Locations

  • Spring Season: Games are played Saturday mornings across three cities—Grimsby, St. Catharines, and Niagara Falls.

*Our goal is to focus the U6 program on skill development more than games. Players may not be divided up into normal teams.  Due to the registration numbers this division it may be merged with the U8* players and all games may be held at the St. Catharines location. Parents will be contacted in this instance.

League Format

Our league is designed to maximize playing time and ensure a positive experience for all:

  • Team Size: 10-player rosters to guarantee everyone plays.
  • Season Length: 8–10 weeks, including skills & drills,  regular-season games, playoffs, and tournament.
  • Practice Schedule: Practices are suggusted to be one hour before games, with optional midweek practices at the coach’s discretion.

What’s Included

Each player receives:

  • A game shirt, pocketless shorts, and flags.

Players will be required to provide:

  • Mouthguard (Mandatory), running shoes or cleats, and water bottle.

No Tryouts or Drafts

Teams are formed by the league to provide balance based on years of experience and skill levels. 1 friend request is accepted but not guaranteed.

Code of Conduct

All players, coaches, parents/guardians, and spectators must adhere to our Code of Conduct (available on our main website @ FootballNiagara.com) Violations may result in sanctions from Flag Football Niagara or its governing bodies.

Volunteer Coaches

Our dedicated volunteer coaches are the heart of our league. All coaches are required to complete a background check. Up to two coaches per team may receive a discount on their child’s registration fees.

Refund Policy

  • Full refund (minus admin fees) before the Skills & Drills Day.
  • 50% refund before the second week of the season.
  • No refunds after the second week.

Safety First

Our non-contact format eliminates tackling, with a focus on the fundemental football skills including passing, catching, and route running.

These media may be used for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media platforms, the league website, newsletters, and print materials. Scope of Use Media content may include, but is not limited to, action shots, team photos, individual player highlights, and group event images. Such content will be used to promote and celebrate league activities, foster community engagement, and increase awareness of the Flag Football Niagara program. No Compensation Participants and their families agree that they will not receive any compensation for the use of media content in which they appear. Privacy Protection Names of individual players will not be included in media content unless specific written consent is obtained from the parent or guardian. While we will make every effort to respect opt-out requests, please note that accidental inclusions in group or background photos may occur. We will register you now and send you an email closer to the start of the season when payment is is required.

We at Flag Football Niagara offer the following refunds within these specific timelines. All refund requests must be submitted by email to your League Commissioner (flag@footballniagara.com). A $25.00 admin fee will apply to all refund request. 

  • FULL or 100% registration fee refund (less credit card transaction fee & admin fee) as long as requested prior to skills and drills day which is the beginning of our season.  
  • Partial 50% registration fee refund (less cred card transaction fee) if after our skills and drills and before week 2 of our season. 
  • NO REFUND request after week 2 of the season beginning.
