Sprockids Program – Rider’s Waiver & Release of Liability
Organized by Olympia Cycle & Ski Inc.

AMATEUR ATHLETIC WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

In consideration of being allowed to participate in the Sprockids Program, including group rides, skills training, and related activities (the “Program”), the undersigned acknowledges, understands, and agrees that:

1. Acknowledgement of Risk

   • Participation in mountain biking involves inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, collisions, equipment failure, trail hazards, severe weather, and unpredictable actions of other riders.
   • These risks may result in serious injury, disability, paralysis, or death. While safety measures and supervision are in place, risks cannot be eliminated.

2. Assumption of Risk

   • I knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES, and accept full responsibility for my participation.

3. Compliance with Program Rules

   • I agree to follow all Program rules, safety guidelines, and instructions provided by Program staff and volunteers.
   • If I observe any hazard or unsafe condition, I will immediately remove myself from participation and report it to a Program official.

4. Waiver & Release of Liability

   • I, for myself, my heirs, assigns, personal representatives, and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE, HOLD HARMLESS, AND DISCHARGE Olympia Cycle & Ski Inc., Spinning Sprockets Inc., Sprockids, Giant Bicycles Canada, Program volunteers and staff, sponsors, event organizers, property owners, and all associated entities (“Releasees”) from any and all claims, demands, actions, damages, costs, or liabilities arising from my participation, WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE.
   • This waiver is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of British Columbia, including but not limited to the Occupiers Liability Act.

5. Medical Treatment Authorization

   • I authorize Program staff, volunteers, or medical personnel to provide or seek medical treatment if necessary in the event of injury. I understand that I am financially responsible for any medical expenses incurred.

FOR PARTICIPANTS UNDER AGE 18

(Parent/Guardian Consent Required)

As the parent or legal guardian of the minor participant, I acknowledge and agree to all terms stated above on behalf of my child.

I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees from any claims, actions, damages, costs, or expenses, including legal fees, arising from my child’s participation in the Program.

I understand that this Agreement is binding upon myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns.

Sprockids Refund Policy – 2025

We understand that plans can change. Our refund policy is as follows:

• No refunds will be issued after April 1, 2025.
• Refund requests made before April 1, 2025, will be subject to a $15 administration fee.
