Old Pueblo Football – Coach Terms, Waiver and Release (Winter 2027)
Old Pueblo Football League, LLC (“Old Pueblo Football” or “OPF”). By completing this registration, I (the coach) agree to the following.
1. Coach Code of Conduct
- I will coach to create a positive learning experience. Winning is secondary to building character and love for the game.
- I will put the emotional and physical well-being of every player ahead of my desire to win.
- I will follow all league rules and safety protocols, including the required equipment rules below.
- I will not argue with officials. Any communication with referees will be calm and respectful.
- I will not belittle or ridicule any participant, in person or online, and I will treat opposing coaches, players and families with respect.
- I will not use profanity, threats or violence, and will not bring weapons, alcohol, drugs, tobacco or vapes to any OPF event.
- I am responsible for the conduct of my team's players, parents and spectators, and will help the league address problems.
Violations may result in suspension or permanent removal of the coach and/or team without refund, as determined by the League Representative.
2. Team and Roster Responsibilities
- I will share my team's registration link with my players. Every player must be registered on my team in TeamLinkt before playing in any game.
- I will make sure every player wears the required equipment: soft-shell headgear for all players (Big Man Rush 5v5: full-coverage soft-shell helmet; 7v7: padded ring-style headgear or full-coverage soft-shell helmet). No hard-shell helmets, and no sharing of headgear. A mouthpiece is required for all players. The 7v7 quarterback is exempt from headgear and mouthpiece only while playing QB. No approved headgear, no play.
- I will remove any player who shows signs of a concussion. That player may not return until they have written clearance from a licensed health care provider.
- I will avoid one-on-one, unobserved contact with any minor and will report any suspected abuse or safety concern to the league immediately.
3. Assumption of Risk, Release of Liability and Indemnification
I understand that football activities involve inherent risks, including injuries ranging from minor to serious, including paralysis and death, and I voluntarily assume those risks. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, discharge and agree not to sue Old Pueblo Football League, LLC; its owners, officers, officials, employees and volunteers; and the owners and operators of any facility used for OPF events, including Pima County, the Pima County Stadium District and Kino Sports Complex (together, the “Released Parties”). This applies to any claim for injury, illness, death or property damage arising from my participation, including claims caused by the ordinary negligence of the Released Parties. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from claims arising from my own conduct. I authorize emergency medical treatment for myself if I cannot consent, and I am responsible for its cost. OPF does not provide medical or accident insurance.
4. Photo and Video
I grant OPF permission to photograph and record me at OPF events and to use those images for lawful league promotion, including on social media, the website and in print, without compensation. I may revoke this permission for future use in writing at info@opfaz.com.
5. Communications and Acknowledgment
I agree that OPF may contact me by email, text and phone about the league. Message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to opt out of texts. I have read these terms, understand that I am giving up substantial legal rights, and agree to them voluntarily. Signing below has the same effect as my written signature.
