Bullying Prevention Policy

We are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all our members, so they can participate in football and cheer in a secure and enjoyable atmosphere.

Bullying of any kind is unacceptable in our organization. If bullying does occur, all members or parents should be able to communicate their concerns and feel secure in knowing that the incidents will be dealt with promptly and effectively by our organization.

We are a TELLING Organization. This means that anyone who knows, that bullying is happening, is expected to tell their respective Football or Cheer Director, any coach or board member immediately.

This organization has a zero-tolerance policy for bullying of any kind.

This policy applies to all practices, games, Organization sponsored events and includes any incidents that occur between any Organization football player and/or cheerleader beyond the field.

In short, any young man or young lady who is part of RRAC is your brother or sister and is a member of the RRAC family and as such will be treated with respect.

Bullying is the use of aggression with the intention of hurting another person.
Bullying is to subject newcomers or younger players or cheerleaders to abuse or humiliating tricks and ridicule
Bullying results in pain and distress to the victim and creates a hostile environment.

Bullying can be:

Emotional - Ex. Excluding individuals, sending hurtful text messages, tormenting - i.e. hiding equipment, threatening gestures, humiliating tricks, ridicule.
-Physical - Ex. Pushing, kicking, hitting, punching or any use of violence.
-Racial - Ex. racial taunts, gestures.
-Gender - Ex. Unwanted physical contact or gender-related abusive comments.
-Verbal - Ex. Name-calling, negative sarcasm, spreading of rumors, repeated teasing.

Bullying hurts and no one should be a victim of such acts.

The organization has a responsibility to respond promptly and effectively to issue of bullying.

As such, Our Organization has adopted the following procedures:

Players, cheerleaders or parents should report bullying to their Head Coach, Football or Cheer Directors or any Board Member they feel comfortable speaking with immediately.

The reporting can occur in person, via telephone, or in written communication.
The bullying behavior or threats of bullying will be investigated, and the bullying stopped quickly.

First Offense:
If the offense is not violent in nature, possible reconciliation by getting parties together and under coaching or administrative supervision the parties can talk through the issue. It may be that a genuine apology and a supervisory verbal correction can often resolve most issues.

Second Offense:
If a second offense occurs, and it is determined that bullying has again occurred, the offending individual will be suspended for 2 games immediately without exception.

Third Offense:
If a third offense occurs, and it is determined that bullying has again occurred, the offending individual will be let go immediately without exception or any furtherance of appeal and all equipment including uniforms will be collected immediately.

Prevention:
All parents, players and cheerleaders will have the anti-bullying policy reviewed with them annually.
All members of Our Organization: every volunteer, every coach, every parent, every football player and every cheerleader will be required to acknowledge that they fully understand the policy and its consequences.

YOUTH SPORTS PARTICIPATION
MEDICAL RELEASE FORM

PARTICIPANT NAME: __________________________________________

The undersigned, as parent or legal guardian of named participant hereby consents to the following in the event named participant is injured during his or her participation in youth sports:

Agents or officials of the youth organization in which named participant is a football player or cheerleader may administer first aid or arrange for transportation to a medical facility if the agent or official deems there to be an emergency.

At that time medical treatment may be given to named participant included but not limited to anesthesia and emergency surgical treatment as deemed necessary by a qualified physician at the medical facility.
