SCCVL Constitution
Code of Conduct: For any event hosted by the Collegiate Beach Volleyball Tour, participants assume an obligation to conduct themselves in a manner compatible with the college/university's function as an educational institution. When teams participate within the Southern California Collegiate Volleyball League (SCCVL) and California Beach Volleyball Tour (CBVT), the participants indicate, by their registration/membership, they agree to represent their club and college/university in a way that does not go against the principles of the institution they are representing. Guidelines of conduct include, but are not limited to: Participants shall not: ● Use of illicit drugs while being a part of any SCCVL sanctioned event. ● Strike, attempt to strike or physically abuse an official, opposing player, spectator or coach. ● Intentionally engage in or incite participants and/or spectators to engage in abusive or violent action. ● Use obscene gestures, profanity or disrespectful language. ● Make or wear team shirts with profane/obscene language. ● Disrespect the rights, gender, sexual orientation, ability, cultural background or religion of another player. ● Violate any SCCVL, host university, hotel, city or state rules or policies. Violation of the Code of Conduct may result in, but are not limited to: ● Suspension from the game/match. ● Suspension from the tournament. ● Forfeiture of individual and/or team awards. ● Ejection from the tournament hotel(s). ● Forfeiture of all games/matches won and possible team elimination from current and future SCCVL sanctioned events. By participating in the SCCVL you and your team, are agreeing that your team will abide by the rules and regulations set in place by the SCCVL and CBVT and will accept the designated punishment for any wrongdoing. Liability Form for the SCCVL Participants acknowledge the risks of volleyball which include : ● Injury, disability, or death from participating. ● All participants assume the risk and accept responsibility. ● Participants will not hold the SCCVL and CBVT responsible/sue for any injury, loss, damage to person or equipment, or death. By participating in any event hosted by the SCCVL and CBVT, you and your team, are agreeing that your team will abide by the rules and regulations set in place by the SCCVL and will accept the designated punishment for any wrongdoing. All athletes, coaches, staff members, managers, spectators, and/or any individuals in attendance at any sanctioned SCCVL or CBVT events shall refrain from theft or stealing. Theft refers to the unauthorized use or misappropriation of the SCCVL’s or participating university programs, athletes, fan's property or assets by anyone in attendance. This includes, but is not limited to, stealing cash, merchandise, supplies, equipment, or intellectual property. Event theft can also involve fraudulent activities, such as falsifying score sheets or using SCCVL resources for personal gain. If you suspect an instance of anyone violating the code of conduct please report it immediately to an SCCVL official via email or text. All reports will be treated confidentially and investigated promptly.
Photo and Video Consent for the SCCVL: Photographs and videos are taken on different occasions during the club season including: practices, tournaments, and other team gatherings by yourself, your teammates, or SCCVL officials. We would like to post these photos and videos on our SCCVL website, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram account to share with other SCCVL parents, players, and fans. Please completed the box regarding giving your permission to the SCCVL to take photographs and/or videos of you the player should the occasion arise. I understand that these photographs and/or videos will not be sold or distributed without my written permission.
