Creating an HCR Number for new to hockey players– Saskatoon Minor Hockey (SMHA)

This form will walk you through the steps to provide the information necessary for SMHA to create an HCR (Hockey Canada Registry) number for you to have for your SMHA or First Shift registration. The HCR number is a unique identifier used by Hockey Canada and its Members for managing registrations, rosters, player profiles and coach clinic registration. A HCR # is required to register for minor hockey.

If the individual being registered has played minor hockey before for SMHA or any other minor hockey association, they will have an HCR # and will need to retrieve it in order to register (a new HCR # cannot be created)

You can find your Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) number in your Spordle Account (Hockey Canada Registry) account. 

Your Hockey information is hosted within Spordle. If you have been registered in hockey before as a player, coach, trainer, and/or official, here is how to find your HOCKEY ID (HCR) #:

NOTE: IF ANY information is incorrect (address, postal code, birthdate) when you retrieve your HCR number you will need to complete the REQUEST FOR HCR Account page with the correct information and we will update your HCR account and then you will be able to validate your registration.

  • Step 1: Log in to your Spordle account using the link above (Spordle Account).
  • Step 2: Click the profile icon in the top right corner.
  • Step 3:  On the left side of the page, select 'Members' 
  • Step 4: Select your participant from the icons labelled with player initials. 
  • Step 5: Click 'View Profile'
  • The Hockey Canada ID (HCR #) is directly below the player's name.  HCR # will be 8-14 digits.
  • Enter your HCR # into the validator in your zone's online registration process.
