General Information:

  • No alcohol permitted at City Park. Teams found consuming alcohol will be withdrawn from the tournament.
  • Do not bring dogs or other pets to sports facilities.  Teams allowing dogs on the sports fields/courts will be asked to leave.
  • Smoking is prohibited in all Kelowna parks, including sports fields/courts.
  • Spectators, like participants, are expected to adhere to the Participant Code of Conduct. Please ensure children are spectating in a safe manner.
  • Be prepared to play. Games are to start and finish on time to maintain the tournament schedule.

Tournament Format Information:

  • FIVB rules apply
    • All City of Kelowna House Rules will supersede when there is a discrepancy
  • The court boundaries are 9m x 9m
    • If any part of the ball touches the boundary line, it is considered in
  • Time slots are 1 hour in length from scheduled start time
  • The one-hour time limit or best two-out-of-three wins the game, whichever comes first
  • The first two sets go to 21 points and are played using the rally point system
    • Each set is to be won by two points
    • In the case of a third set, play will go to 15 points
  • Jump serves are not allowed in the Recreational division
  • A player may not touch the net or step over the centerline
  • Minimum 5 players on the court at all times, of which at least 2 must be of the same gender
  • Teams may not consist of more than 10 players, your TeamLinkt roster is our official roster
  • Teams are responsible for ensuring that all players playing in the tournament are valid players listed on their team roster. It is up to the team captains to consult TeamLinkt rosters prior to starting a game. Official roster checks are not provided to teams during the tournament.
  • All players must be at least 18 years old
  • Teams not ready to play with the minimum number of players by 10 minutes past the scheduled start time will forfeit the game.
  • Prizes are awarded to 1st and 2nd place in each tournament division.

Should games be cancelled by the tournament coordinator due to unforeseen circumstances and are unable to be re-scheduled during the tournament weekend, the higher-ranking team will be awarded the win and move forward in the tournament.  If the tournament cannot be completed due to unforeseen circumstances, final placement & prize distribution for each division will be based on the two highest-ranking teams remaining in each division at the time of the tournament cancellation.
