HOCKEY WEYBURN PRESENTS:
U11 Great Goal Post Challenge and U11 Female No Guts, No Glory Hockey Tournaments

January 17-19, 2025

Welcome! 

On behalf of Hockey Weyburn and our tournament committee, we welcome you to our 2025 U11 Great Goal Post Challenge and U11 Female No Guts, No Glory Tournaments! Along with our 4 Weyburn teams, we are excited to host 4 out of town teams, bringing in more than 150 athletes, coaches, managers, and team personnel, along with their family and friends! 

We are looking forward to your team’s participation in this tournament. Our tournament committee has worked tirelessly to ensure that all teams have a great experience.

Rinks and Ice Surfaces: 

Games will be played both at Crescent Point Place and the Tom Zandee Sports Arena, located at 327 Mergens Street, Weyburn SK 

Game Rules and Regulations: 

• This is a Hockey Sask sanctioned tournament and as such, all Hockey Sask rules apply.

• 3-minute warmup.

• Three 20 minute straight time periods. 3 minute breaks between periods. Players will not leave the ice between periods unless a flood is scheduled during the game. Flood every second period.

• Pucks will be provided for warm up. Please distribute them evenly between both teams and pick them up at the end of warm up.    

• Dressing room designation will be up on the screen when you arrive. Please remove all bags and belongings after each game.

• Home team wears dark coloured jerseys, away teams wear light coloured jerseys.

• Placement for finals determined by wins/losses (Wins=2 pts, Tie=1 pt, loss=0 pts)

• Ties in the standings determined by:

  • Total Wins

  • Goals for 

  • Goals against

  • Coin toss, if necessary

• Play off rules:

  • Tied games will go to a 5 minute sudden death OT

  • Followed by a 3 round style shootout, then a 1 on 1 shootout. Every player on the team must shoot before any player can shoot twice

• Please be prepared to play 15 minutes in advance of all scheduled game times                    

Heart and Hustle Award:

• Each team will award Heart & Hustle to their own team after each game. 

• Coaches give officials the jersey number of the picks to be announced at the end of the game.

General Information:

• Chef Ron’s Concession will be operating for the weekend. Please note that it is cash only and there is an ATM located at the rink.

• Progressive 50/50 tickets for sale during the tournament. Draw will be made during the final game Saturday. 

• There will be a basket raffle with draws made during the final game Saturday.

• Teams are required to provide 15 roster stickers prior to playing their first game. These can be dropped off at the welcome table in either rink prior to the first game.

ABSOLUTELY NO ABUSE OF REFEREES WILL BE TOLERATED BY COACHES, PLAYERS OR FANS.

Have fun, make noise and cheer in support of your team, but please respect the game officials, all fans, players and volunteers!
